Möötjelitt - MPC Preferences

The preference panels allows you to modify the behaviour of MPC (to a certain degree )

The Palm Backup Folder is something that you have to set. It needs to point to the backup folder that the HotSync application has created on your computer. MPC will not be able to find any files at all unless this is defined.

You can change the font and size of the text used in MPC by changing the List Font and Text Font properties.

By setting the Text File Creator you will tell MPC which application that will be the "owner" of the text files. You can change the value by either typing in the text field or selecting an example file using the "set" button. The default creator is "ttxt" which is used by SimpleText/TextEdit. Another common creator is "R*ch" which is used by BBEdit.

Some of the translators produces tab separated text fields, where each line is one record. However, Palm applications like for example the Expense program allows you to write notes that can contain several lines. If these notes were saved without conversion, the resulting text file would contain some lines which would represent a record, and other lines that just were a part of a note. Unfortunately such a file would be troublesome to import into a database or a spreadsheet. To avoid this problem MPC removes newlines and replaces them with something else.

This "something else" is by default a space but you can change this by entering some other text. For example, if you want to have the attendees of an Expence record separated by "/", then enter a / in field to the right of the text "Expense attendee".
